"Gold is a symbol of preciousness; the things we value. On this piece I used gold to represent the intangible gift of generosity. The gold box is perhaps a metaphor for the most generous gift we can offer – the time we give to others. This piece could be for people who have a spirit of selflessness. I think it could be a little way of saying Thank You to a volunteer or caregiver – someone who works tirelessly for little monetary reward or to a friend who always makes time for you. The sentiment ‘Generosity is your shining gift’ could mean that the giver recognises the value of another’s generosity."
